Mission Statement of the First Baptist Church of Rio de
Janeiro
To proclaim the message of the Living Christ and to help those who believe
in Him to become His disciples.
General Policy for the Mission
Statement

The First Baptist Church of Rio de Janeiro exists to proclaim the message
of the Living Christ to all persons placing it in the context of each situation
and making use of all possible methods to communicate it.

For those who confess Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, the First
Baptist Church of Rio de Janeiro intends to become a family of faith allowing
people:

to develop spiritual and doctrinal maturity;

to make full use of their spiritual gifts;

to fully integrate themselves in both the fellowship and in the ministry
of the church thus assisting it to accomplish its mission.
Values Statement
In order to accomplish its mission, the First Baptist Church of Rio follows
the seven principles listed below:
1. To submit completely to the Word of God.
2. To seek quality in everything it develops.
3. To seek a balanced ministry that will integrate Worship, Fellowship, Teaching,
Proclamation and Christian Service.
4. To emphasize two areas of action:

community action, aimed at the church neighborhood

city-wide action encompassing the entire area where the church's influence
can be felt.
5. To develop close and primary cooperation with the Brazilian Baptist Convention
and its organizations.
6. To express openness to all people regardless of race, sex, age, social-
cultural and economic status.
7. To exert a strong non-partisan influence on all social and political levels
of society.
