Domitila Ballesteros estudou órgão com Fritz
Hofer e Pablo Castellanos e fez cursos de aperfeiçoamento com nomes
como Matteo Imbruno, Ludger Lohman, Mas y Bonet, Peter Planyavsky e Michael
Radulescu. Professora de órgão e organista da Primeira Igreja
Batista do Rio de Janeiro, é presidente do Instituto de Cultura e
Arte Organística.
Mestre em órgão pela UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro)
e doutoranda em Etnografia das Práticas Musicais na UNIRIO (Universidade
Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro). Publicou o livro de Jeanne Demessieux's
Six Études and the Piano Technique.
Domitila Ballesteros vem se destacando ativamente no cenário
organístico nacional e internacional. Foi uma das representantes do
Brasil nas comemorações do Ano Brasil-França em 2005,
patrocinada pelo Ministério da Cultura e pelo Instituto Eurobrasil,
realizando uma série de recitais na região da Bretanha,
França, nas cidades de Ploermel, Fougères, Rennes e St. Malo. |

Ainda na mesma ocasião, foi organista concertista da Semana Internacional
da Mulher, evento patrocinado pela Prefeitura de Rennes. Em julho de 2006
participou do Festival Internacional de Órgão de Hasselt,
Bélgica, dentro da série Sete Mulheres Musicistas de Renome,
atuando com organista concertista na Catedral de Hasselt. Em
maio de 2007, realizou o concerto de abertura do XXI Festival Internacional
de Órgano em Montevidéu. Seus compromissos internacionais em
2008 incluíram doze concertos em importantes igrejas da Holanda, Noruega
e Dinamarca. Em 2009 apresentou concertos em cidades do Brasil, México,
Alemanha, Suécia e Holanda. Sua agenda para 2010 e 2011 incluiu concertos
de órgão na Espanha, Polônia, Dinamarca, Finlândia,
Noruega, Holanda além do Brasil.

Mrs. Ballesteros studied organ with Fritz Hofer and Pablo Castellanos and
had classes with names like Matteo Imbruno, Ludger Lohman, Mas y Bonet, Peter
Planyavsky and Michael Radulescu. She is presently an organ teacher and organist
of the First Baptist Church of Rio de Janeiro. Mrs. Ballesteros is the President
of the Institute of Culture and Organistic Art.
Master in Organ by the UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) Domitila
Ballesteros is currently a doctorate student of Ethnography of the Musical
Practices in the UNIRIO (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro).
Domitila Ballesteros published the book “Jeanne Demessieux's Six
Études and the Piano Technique”.
Mrs. Ballesteros has been standing-out actively in the national and international
organistic scenario. As one of the participants of the commemorations of
the Year Brazil-France in 2005, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil
and by the Eurobrasil Institute, Domitila Ballesteros presented a series
of concerts in the Region of Bretagne, France, in the cities of Ploermel,
Fougères, Rennes and St. Malo. In the same occasion, she was the organist
and recitalist of the International Women Week, sponsored by the City Hall
of Rennes. In July 2006, she was a recitalist in the International Organ
Festival in Hasselt, Belgium, as part of the series "Seven Women - Well-Known
Musicians" In May 2007, Domitila performed the opening organ concert in the
XXI International Organ Festival in Montevideo, Uruguay. In 2008, her
international agenda included a series of twelve organ concerts in The
Netherlands, Norway and Denmark. In 2009 she performed organ concerts in
cities in Brazil as well as in Mexico, Germany, Sweden and in The Netherlands.
Her agenda for 2010 and 2011 included organ concerts in Spain, Poland,
Denmark, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands and Brazil.
